For owners

Running a villa in Cortona.

Cortona is in our home valley. The office in Torrita di Siena is about 35 minutes away, so we can get to a house here quickly when something needs looking at.

  1. The tourist tax

€2 per person per night for holiday rentals and €2.50 for houses registered as case vacanze, for up to 4 nights in a row. Children under 12 and Cortona residents do not pay.

  2. Half price in winter

The tax is halved in November and from January to March, while December is charged in full. The 2026 rates are the same as in 2025.

  3. Quarterly returns

The return goes in on MOTouristOffice by the 20th of the month after each quarter, even with no guests, and the tax is paid by the same date. We do both for the houses we manage.

What we can do for you

How we run it

If you would like to meet in person, our office is at Viale Giuseppe Mazzini 17/19/21, Torrita di Siena. Call or write and we will fix a time.

Cleaning, laundry, pool and garden are done by local people we know, and every visit ends with a photo report. Spending above the agreed amount waits for your approval.

The first step is a free evaluation of your house. It costs nothing and does not commit you to anything.

The area

What to do in Cortona.

Cortona sits at about 500 metres on the slopes of Monte Sant'Egidio, looking across the Valdichiana to Lake Trasimeno. With 343 square kilometres, it is one of the largest comuni in Tuscany.

  1. Montepulciano

Vino Nobile cellars dug into the rock under the palaces, and a long main street that climbs to the Piazza Grande.

  2. MAEC, the Etruscan museum

In Palazzo Casali: an Etruscan bronze lamp, the Tabula Cortonensis, one of the longest Etruscan texts known, and an Egyptian funerary boat.

  3. Fra Angelico

The Museo Diocesano has his Annunciation, painted around 1430, and works by Luca Signorelli, who was born in Cortona.

  4. Into Umbria

Lake Trasimeno is about 20 minutes away and Perugia about 45, so Umbria is an easy day out.

At the table

Cortona DOC wines, with Syrah as the local speciality, Chianina steak and pici. The Sagra della Bistecca fills the Parterre gardens in mid-August.

Getting here

Florence airport is about 1 hour 35 by car and Perugia airport about 50 minutes. Camucia-Cortona station, 10 minutes away, has regional trains, and Terontola, 15 minutes away, has some Intercity trains to Florence and Rome.
