Where the villas are.
Villa Petroio and Poggio alla Famina are both in the Siena countryside, near Montepulciano. Poggio alla Fame is further east, above Sansepolcro, where Tuscany meets Umbria.
Sansepolcro and Anghiari
Piero della Francesca's Resurrection hangs in the Museo Civico of Sansepolcro, 10 minutes from Poggio alla Fame. Anghiari, a walled hill town, is 15 minutes away.
Montepulciano
A Renaissance hill town with old wine cellars dug under its palaces, and the home of Vino Nobile. 15 minutes from Poggio alla Famina, 30 from Villa Petroio.
Pienza and the Val d'Orcia
Pienza was rebuilt in the 15th century by Pope Pius II, and its walls look straight over the Val d'Orcia. 25 minutes from Poggio alla Famina, 35 from Villa Petroio.
Arezzo and Cortona
Arezzo is 45 minutes from Poggio alla Fame and Cortona an hour. From Poggio alla Famina, Cortona is 30 minutes.
Feeding a big group
A private chef can cook dinner for the whole group at the villa, or run a pasta class. We can stock the fridge before you arrive, and a private chef booked through us costs 10% less.
Getting here
Florence airport is about 1 hour 30 from Villa Petroio and Poggio alla Famina. Poggio alla Fame is an hour from Perugia airport and 1 hour 50 from Florence. We can book transfers and drivers for the group.

Which villa in Tuscany sleeps 20 people?
Villa Petroio: 14 in beds and 20 with the sofa beds, in a main villa and two annexes. Poggio alla Fame sleeps 18 and Poggio alla Famina 14.
Does every bedroom have its own bathroom?
Yes, in all three. Villa Petroio has seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms, Poggio alla Fame six en-suite bedrooms, and Poggio alla Famina six bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms.
Can we hold a wedding or a party?
Poggio alla Fame hosts weddings and events: see our weddings page. At Villa Petroio the owners accept celebrations of up to 30 guests. Ask us about Poggio alla Famina.
Is there staff at the villa?
Nobody lives on site. One cleaning every seven days is included; extra cleaning, a private chef and transfers can be booked. The same person on our team looks after you from your first message to your departure.

Poggio alla Famina starts at €9,000 a week, Villa Petroio at €10,000 and Poggio alla Fame at €18,000, for the whole estate. We confirm the price for your dates within 24 hours.
