Three villas, three kinds of house.
Each villa is rented to one group. At Pieve di Ponsano and Villa Aurora the pool is for your group only; at Villa Fecciano it is shared with two neighbouring houses that are not rented out.

The area
Days out around Volterra.
Volterra was one of the main Etruscan cities. San Gimignano is 30 to 40 minutes from Volterra by car, and Siena and Florence work as day trips from all three houses.
Volterra
You still walk in through the Etruscan gate, the Porta all'Arco. Inside the walls are the Guarnacci Etruscan Museum, a Roman theatre and alabaster workshops that take visitors.
San Gimignano
The town of towers, quieter early in the morning or after the day visitors leave. Vernaccia, its white wine, is made on the hills around it.
Certaldo Alto
The walled upper town of Certaldo, reached by a small funicular, 10 minutes from Villa Aurora. Boccaccio lived here and is buried in the church of Santi Jacopo e Filippo.
Lajatico
Andrea Bocelli was born here, 10 minutes from Villa Fecciano. Once a year he sings at the Teatro del Silenzio, an open-air theatre in the fields outside the village.
At the table
Saffron from San Gimignano and Volterra, Vernaccia, pecorino from the Balze Volterrane, wild boar and the red onions of Certaldo. Pieve di Ponsano has its own wine cellar, and its bottles can be bought from the owner.
Getting here
Florence airport is about 50 minutes from Villa Aurora and Pisa airport about 50 minutes from Villa Fecciano. Pieve di Ponsano is about 80 km from both. You need a car, and the last 3.5 km to Pieve di Ponsano are on a gravel road.

Which of these villas has a heated pool?
Pieve di Ponsano. Its 18 m infinity pool is heated and faces the valley, and there is a sauna in the garden. Villa Aurora has a natural pool with a hot tub beside it. The 12 by 6 m pool at Villa Fecciano is open from mid-May to mid-October.
How far is San Gimignano?
About 23 km from Pieve di Ponsano, 25 minutes by car from Villa Aurora and about 45 minutes from Villa Fecciano.
How much does a week cost?
Pieve di Ponsano starts at €11,000 a week and Villa Fecciano at €2,500, for the whole house. Villa Aurora is priced on request. We confirm the price for your dates within 24 hours.
Can we have a private chef?
Yes. Pieve di Ponsano can be booked with a private chef for breakfast and dinner, groceries included, with cleaning mid-week and fresh linen. At the other two villas we can send a chef for a dinner or a cooking class. A private chef booked through us costs 10% less.
Do we need a car?
Yes, for all three. The last 3.5 km to Pieve di Ponsano are on a gravel road, with gated parking for six cars at the end. Villa Aurora has private gated parking and Villa Fecciano free parking on site.
